Restorative Therapies offers training for all levels of learning.
All web-based and advanced courses have been approved by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy and the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

Colleen is a dedicated Clinical Educator at Restorative Therapies, committed to transforming lives through innovative rehabilitative techniques. Colleen embarked on her professional journey after graduating from the Richard Stockton College of NJ with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2004, followed by obtaining her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2008.
Her career began in outpatient Orthopedics and Early Intervention, but it was a pivotal moment during a travel assignment at the Kennedy Kreiger Institute in Baltimore, MD, that set her on a path toward neurological rehabilitation. Here, she witnessed the transformative power of functional electrical stimulation (FES) on patients recovering from neurological injuries. Inspired by this experience, she integrated FES and activity-based restorative therapy (ABRT) into her treatment plans, laying the groundwork for her future endeavors.
Colleen’s journey took her to various subacute and acute care facilities across the US, but her heart remained with the neurological population. She returned to Baltimore to work full-time at Kennedy Kreiger, where she honed her skills in FES, serial casting, and wheelchair assessments. Her dedication to improving the physical health of patients with paralysis was unwavering, and she expanded her expertise to encompass a range of neurological diagnoses.
In 2010, Colleen returned to her home state of NJ, bringing her passion for working with patients with neurological diagnoses to Kessler Rehabilitation Institute. Here, she continued her pioneering work with FES and ABRT, extending her reach to patients with diverse neurological conditions. In 2013, Colleen embarked on a new chapter at Helen Hayes Hospital in NY, where she flourished as their FES leader, member of the Locomotor Training team, and Physical Therapy Supervisor in Outpatient Neurology. Her tenure was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, as she spearheaded initiatives to enhance patient care and expand the role of FES in rehabilitation.
Since 2007, Colleen has been an essential member of the Restorative Therapies team, initially as a home installer and later joining the Clinical Education Team full-time in 2023. Her role encompasses teaching, support to clinicians and home users, research and development, and advocacy, as she strives to make a lasting impact on patients and therapists globally.
Stephanie Huber, MS, OTR/L is a Senior Clinical Educator at Restorative Therapies in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and Psychology in 2008 and earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009.
Stephanie began her career at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s International Center for Spinal Cord Injuries where she specialized in the application of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and Activity-Based Restorative Therapy (ABRT) with patients with various neurological impairments across the lifespan.
She later assisted in the establishment of an outpatient ABRT clinic, the International Neurorehabilitation Institute, with Dr. Daniel Becker. At that time, Stephanie continued to focus her continued education on rehabilitation of the neurologically involved patient, applying her experience and training to include the Multiple Sclerosis population.
During her time at both clinics, Stephanie participated in research studies aimed at determining health outcomes through use of the Restorative Therapies’ FES systems with the spinal cord injury and Multiple Sclerosis populations.
Since 2013, Stephanie has held a home installer position with Restorative Therapies. She expanded her role to join the clinical support team in 2015. In her current role, Stephanie works with a team of therapists to provide clinical education and support to clinicians, researchers, and home users around the world. Her specialties include upper extremity rehabilitation, pediatric therapy, and FES and early mobility in the critical care environment. She contributes to new product development, relying on her expertise and experience in the clinical use of FES systems to turn clinician and patient needs into functionalities and capabilities of Restorative Therapies’ systems. Her current role allows her to collaborate with clinicians around the world to improve rehabilitative and health outcomes.
Kathleen received her master’s degree in physical therapy from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) in 2002 and her doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of Montana in 2022. She has spent the majority of her 20+ years as a physical therapist working in the outpatient clinic setting with both pediatric and adult patients with neurological disorders. Kathleen has worked for Restorative Therapies for the last 7 years in various capacities and is currently the Senior Clinical Representative for the west coast clinics to include: AZ, AK, CA, HI, NV, OR, WA.
Laurie is a Senior Clinical Educator at Restorative Therapies, providing clinical education and support for clinicians, researchers, and home customers who use Restorative Therapies’ integrated FES therapy systems. While initially intent on infusing her love of hockey with her physical therapy career, she developed a passion for working with patients with neurologic conditions during an internship at Magee Rehabilitation in Philadelphia. She has experience treating a wide variety of adult patient populations across inpatient, outpatient and sub-acute settings and developed a specialty in treating stroke patients at while Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, PA.
Laurie has used a variety of FES systems in patient care, while also educating other clinicians, leading her to Restorative Therapies in 2018. She developed a strong interest in critical care early mobility programs and their use of non-FES and integrated FES systems. Laurie’s love of research has allowed her to collaborate with researchers around the world.
In her current role Laurie works closely with clinicians and patients internationally providing on-site and remote education and support founded in evidence-based research and best practices. She also provides clinical expertise to internal staff for training and development. In addition, she works seamlessly with interdepartmental teams to improve our products to meet unique clinician/patient needs.
Laurie is an integral part of our CEU program on advanced applications of integrated FES technology. She has presented on the application of FES-based therapy in neurorehabilitation and critical care at national conferences including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACCN) and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM). She also guest-lectures annually for the DPT program at Touro University, educating on FES in the application of Activity Based Restorative Therapy programs in neurorehabilitation.
Laurie enjoys having the opportunity to optimize rehabilitative and physical health outcomes by facilitating advanced education of best practices in the use of integrated FES systems across a wide range of patient populations.
Lauren Norris, PT, DPT, is a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy and has been working as a Clinical Sales Representative with Restorative Therapies, Inc., since February 2021. Lauren graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013 with a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, and from Texas Woman’s University-Houston in 2016 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She also graduated from the TIRR Memorial Hermann Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program in July 2017, treating patients throughout the neurologic continuum of care ranging from the Neurotrauma ICU to the TIRR Challenge program, a community re-integration program for brain injury survivors. Upon completion of her residency and prior to joining RTI, Lauren worked as member of the spinal cord injury team at the TIRR Memorial Hermann Outpatient Rehabilitation.
Wendy Warfield, MSHA, OTR/L is the Clinical Education Manager at Restorative Therapies. She graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2003 and obtained her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland, University College in 2013.
As an Occupational Therapist for 18 years, Wendy has extensive clinical experience treating a wide range of patients from both adult and pediatric populations, with varying diagnoses, in acute and sub-acute phases of treatment, and across the continuum of care including both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Through her experience at the Kennedy Krieger Institute: International Center for Spinal Cord Injury in Baltimore, MD from 2005 – 2012, Wendy has specialized experience developing and implementing activity-based restorative therapy approaches for neurological populations with a focus on spinal cord injury and upper extremity rehabilitation.
Wendy has completed advanced FES training and has worked extensively with a range of handheld and motorized FES systems. She has also expanded her repertoire to include training in the use of FES powered systems in the context of early mobility programs in critical care environments. Wendy has presented on the theory and implementation of FES-based therapy in neurorehabilitation and critical care at national and international conferences including the American Occupational Therapy Association, Australian Physiotherapy Association, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
In her role with the Restorative Therapies Clinical Team of Physical and Occupational Therapists, she provide clinical education and support in the use of FES systems to clinicians, researchers, and patients around the world. The scope includes training on-site at clinics, organizing and delivering courses for continuing education credits at the Clinical Training Center of Restorative Therapies in Baltimore, MD, and advising customers and clinicians remotely.
Wendy has also contributed to new product development relying on her expertise and experience in the clinical use of FES systems to turn clinician and patient needs into required functionalities and capabilities of therapy systems. Wendy was a key contributor to the development of Restorative Therapies newest product the Xcite FES Clinical Station.
Her role as Clinical Education Manager provided Wendy with the unique opportunity to collaborate with clinicians around the world, facilitating best practice in the use of FES systems to improve rehabilitative and physical health outcomes of a wide range of patient populations. Wendy currently works for Medscape as the Associate Director of Clinical Strategy.
Dr. Robin Baker attended Howard University in Washington, DC, where she completed her BS in Health Sciences, with a focus on Pre-Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. After completing her DPT in 2006, Robin began working at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, International Center for Spinal Cord Injury in Baltimore, MD. Robin specialized in treating pediatric and adult patients with impairments as a result of spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders.
Robin has spent more than 12 years working for Restorative Therapies, Inc. in clinical education and training, product development of Class III medical devices, product testing, and product guidelines for integrated functional electrical stimulation systems (iFES). Robin has collaborated nationally and internationally with biomedical engineers, medical clinicians, and researchers to develop and provide education for iFES systems for patients with a wide range of neurological diagnosis and supine ergometry systems used in the ICU to promote early mobility for patients with varying diagnosis. Her contributions also extended to supine ergometry systems in the ICU, enhancing early mobility prospects for patients with various medical conditions.
Robin is in her final year of the Faculty Development Residency at Duke University. The residency supports physical therapy educators in professional development, leadership skills, enhancing instructional strategies, and elevating the quality of physical therapy education.
Robin will begin a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position at Campbell University’s Department of Physical Therapy on August 1, 2024. Robin continues to provide clinical and educational support to Restorative Therapies, Inc. as often as possible, staying current on the latest technologies available to support patients in their healing journey.
Additionally, Robin has practiced in acute care, ICU, outpatient cardiopulmonary, and home health care settings. Dr. Baker has a passion for mentoring and educating health care professionals and students.
Crystal is an experienced physical therapist who earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2011. She practiced clinically for over 11 years at various levels of care in the Omaha, Kansas City, and Chicago areas where she developed an expertise in neurologic rehabilitation. Her dedication to this patient population led her to achieve board certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist in 2021. Currently, Crystal serves as a Clinical Representative with Restorative Therapies, where she combines her passion for mentorship with her commitment to advocating for the use of FES therapies in neurologic care. Through this role, she empowers clinicians with valuable insights and collaborates to enhance outcomes for those with neurologic conditions.
